Regarding residential mortgage loan, I am curious if I or my wife qualify for the loan. I am a Korean-American U.S. citizen working in Korea as a foreign legal counsel (attorney) with approximately net KRW 6,500,000 in monthly salary. My wife is a Korean citizen with permanent residency in the U.S. (영주권자) without income. We are looking to purchase a home in Korea and would like to know how to proceed in getting a prequalification for the loan either through me or my wife. Thank you.

I appreciate your interest in our mortgage loan product, 보금자리론. I'm sorry that you and your wife don't qualify for our mortgage loan if you're not Korean. You need "Resident Registration,주민등록등본" as Korean, even though your wife is Korean. (If you're Korean and have "Resident Registration", you can ask for our loan.) If your wife has income or pay the Korea national pension in last three monthes, She can prove her income and ask for our loan to purchase her house. Mortgage loan qualification of KHFC(Korea Housing Finance Corporation) is different from other banks in Korea. I recommend that you visit any other bank 국민 Bank, 하나 Bank, 우리 Bank, 제일 Bank, 농협, etc. wiht kind regards
