The Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Kyung-ho Kim) operates the improved Bogeumjari loan Mortgage Scoring System (MSS)* starting from September 1. Accordingly, it is expected that the new system will deliver a more precise evaluation of Bogeumjari loan customers.

* Mortgage Scoring System: The system evaluates the credit of Bogeumjari loan customers by verifying various credit determinants including income and debt.

HF announced on August 31 that the improved mortgage scoring system evaluates the credit of customers by excluding credit inquiry history occurred during the process of inquiring whether they can borrow money from various banks and reducing the scope of reflecting short-term and small amount delinquency history.

"From customers' point of view, it is necessary to compare interest rates on the same loan among financial institutions. Nonetheless, such credit information inquiry has had an impact on the borrowing limit," said a HF official. "We will make sure to prevent the situation where the low-income people with low credit scores couldn't take out loans for negligible reasons."

The official also stressed, "HF will continue to faithfully play its role in stabilizing the housing environment by strengthening financing support for low-income people."
