More jeonse guarantees offered for marginalized families in the first half

HF provides 3.9146 trillion won in chonsei guarantees for marginalized households

Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF) announced on the 14th that it provided guarantees worth 3.9146 trillion Korean won in the first half of this year for marginalized families in need of chonsei (returnable lump-sum deposit) housing rentals.

In the first six months of this year, its chonsei guarantees for international marriages, those with disabilities and their family members, and other households requiring social assistance went up 30.2% year-on-year to 3.9146 trillion won.

The number of guarantees provided also increased by 14.5% from 102,801 last year to 117,704 in the first half of this year.

The amount and number of guarantees for marginalized households increased in the first half, as it raised the ceiling of guarantees for low-income households with 20 million won or less in annual income this February and expanded support for men of national merit and their families starting this May with a higher ceiling of guarantees and a 0.1% discount on guarantee fees.

“Greater support for marginalized households is in line with the Government 3.0 policy,” said one HF official. “We will continue to expand our guarantees for families in need of social assistance.”
