The Korea Housing Finance Corporation (KHFC, CEO Joo-jae Lim) set out to help undernourished children by using a special fund raised with the salary returned by KHFC management.

The Bluebird Fund Support ceremony was held on August 12, 2009 at KHFC’s 14th floor meeting room. CEO Joo-jae Lim, director Woo-yeong Jeon, acting President Won-jin Kim of Child Fund Korea, and Sin-hyeok Lim, the Director of Fund Raising at Child Fund Korea, were in attendance. At the ceremony, KHFC donated KRW 30 million raised by its management to Child Fund Korea. KHFC’s donation was made as part of Child Fund Korea’s “Korea is One Family” campaign and will be used to help nourish children in need.

Last March, KHFC management agreed to voluntarily return 5% of their salary to help deal with the impact of the financial crisis on Korea’s children. The returned salary has been raised to help those on the margins of society.

In his speech at the ceremony, CEO Lim said, “I am pleased that our management voluntarily took part in raising this special fund that will be used for a meaningful cause.” He also added, “I hope that a culture of sharing will be expanded throughout the Korean society.”
