- Moody’s assigns ratings equivalent to sovereign ratings on Nov. 13, 2009

The Korea Housing Finance Corporation (KHFC, CEO Joo-jae Lim) announced on November 13, 2009 that it received ratings from an international credit rating institution for the first time since its inception.

On that day, KHFC was assigned a foreign currency long-term issuer rating of A2 from Moody’s, equivalent to a sovereign rating, and was recognized for having a stable outlook.

This is the first time that the corporation received an overseas rating since it was established in March 2004. The higher international credit standing in overseas markets is expected to help KHFC establish a foundation for more stable financing from overseas.

Following the assignment of an international rating, KHFC will likely be able to react more flexibly to changes in the financial environment both in Korea and abroad by internationally diversifying its financing sources, which had previously been limited to the domestic capital market in Korea.
