On May 13, 2011, the management and staff of Korea Housing Finance Corporation (KHFC, CEO Joo-jae Lim) volunteered at a sisterhood village as part of its program to increase urban-rural exchange and help local communities prosper.
KHFC′s Bogeumjari Volunteer Group visited Chocheon 2-ri village in Eumseong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do Province and worked with farmers to plant pepper seedlings, erect support, and plant sweet potatoes.
Director Seong-woo Lee who joined the volunteer activities said, ″Since establishing a sisterhood tie with the village, we come here two or three times a year to give a hand and purchase farming produce.″ He added, ″In addition to these volunteer activities, KHFC also made a donation to repair public facilities in the village.″
