HF holds a seminar on Paradigm Change and Plans for Stabilizing the Housing Finance Market

 

On October 15th, the Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Seo Jong-dae) announced that it would host a seminar titled, “Paradigm Shift and Plans for Stabilizing the Housing Finance Market.” The seminar will be held at 2:00 pm on October 23rd at the Members’ Conference Room of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in Namdaemun-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul.

 

During the seminar, Professor Lee Chang-mu of Hanyang University will give a presentation on “The outlook of housing demand and supply amid the paradigm change in housing finance.” Kim Deok-rye, a researcher at HF, will present on the topic of “Plans to support housing finance for low-income citizens in the face of changes in the housing finance environment;” and Professor Cho Man of the Korea Development Institute (KDI) School of Public Policy and Management will address the theme of “Plans to enhance the negotiability of mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and promote investment.”

 

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion presided over by Chairman Lee Yong-man of the Korean Association for Housing Policy Studies (KAHPS). The panelists include: Kim Hyeon-a, a researcher at the Construction Economy Research Institute of Korea (CERIK); Park Deok-bae, a researcher at the Hyundai Research Institute (HRI); and Professor Park Yeon-wu of Chung Ang University.

 

“The upcoming seminar is designed to reexamine our direction for restructuring the housing finance market by providing a housing safety net for low-income households and to seek ways to promote the circulation of MBSs for this purpose,” said one HF official.
