KHFC shares gimchi with the underprivileged

- Delivering gimchi and rice to low income households

The Korea Housing Finance Corporation (KHFC, President & CEO Seo, Jong-dae) held a Gimchi Sharing Event on Nov. 28 where KHFC volunteers made gimchi for 620 low-income households including seniors who live alone and families with under-nourished children.

President & CEO Seo, Jong-dae and about 30 members of KHFC’s Bogeumjari Volunteer Corps gathered together to prepare gimchi at the Macheon General Welfare Center in Macheon-dong, Seoul, and distributed it along with 2,000 kilograms of rice to low-income households residing in Macheon-dong and Geoyeo-dong.

During the activity, President & CEO Seo said, “I am worried because winter has come earlier than in the previous years, and I hope that the gimchi and our interest will help keep our underprivileged and lonely neighbors warm during the winter.”

KHFC has joined hands with the Child Fund Korea to hold gimchi sharing events since 2009 to help low-income households better prepare for winter. Other social contribution activities that KHFC has been conducting include

“1-Company 1-Village Briquettes Support” and “Visiting Welfare Centers” around the new year.
