HF Seeks Participants for the Retirees' Finance Academy


- With its financial education tour program, HF offers need-based services


Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Kim Jae-Chun) announced on the 8th that it is receiving applications for the Retirees' Finance Academy.

 

Anyone interested in participating in the Academy may apply for the lecture program after indicating the location and time of their choice at the HF webpage (www.hf.go.kr). The lectures are offered free-of-charge.

 

To help senior citizens plan for their retirement, the Academy provides them with financial knowledge* and other useful information for their everyday life**. The Academy offers a lecture tour around the country starting from Busan on the 29th to Seoul, Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju, Ulsan, and other cities. During the 2017 tour, it will offer a total of 45 lectures.

        * Pre-retirement and financial planning, income and spending management, asset and debt management, and inheritance and gifts

        ** First-aid training, fraud detection and prevention training, tips for better communication with family, special lectures by social celebrities, legal and tax consultation

 

An HF official said of the Academy, "We offer the financial education program as part of our efforts to implement the Government 3.0 initiative. To provide need-based personalized services, we have added a new lecture series entitled 'Retirement Finance Lectures at Your Place' for financially underserved areas as well as the specialized lecture 'Legal and Tax Consultation Services.' These lectures have helped improve the information accessibility and financial literacy of socially vulnerable groups."

 

Since its launch in April 2015, the Retirees' Finance Academy has provided financial education to 2,524 senior citizens. It won the grand prize at the 'Financial Consumer Protection Awards' last year for its outstanding contributions.
