HF Supports Job-Creating Child Care Project

- HF reaches MOU with Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education to support ‘Busan-Style Dolbom Jaramteo’

Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Lee Jung-Hwan) revealed on May 1, 2018, that it signed an MOU with Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Busan Governor of Education Kim Seok-Joon) to support ‘Busan-Style Dolbom Jaramteo*.' This project is part of the on-going child care program for working moms, one of the job-creating social contribution programs.
 * Busan-Style Dolbom Jaramteo: A Busan-based child care model carried out in partnership with the local community. It is a closely-knit child care network in and outside of school that helps to ease the child rearing burden. Tailored to local needs, it offers afterschool care in elementary schools, regional Jaramteo child care, and neighborhood Jaramteo child care.

Under the MOU, HF provides financial assistance for neighborhood Jaramteo child care. The program provides children with afterschool care, helping them in doing their homework or running extra-curriculum classes. This program is offered by utilizing unused space at apartment complexes or public buildings. The financial assistance provided by HF will be used to pay for child care, security, and extra-curricular personnel.

HF CEO Lee Jung-Hwan said, “We expect that our financial assistance for neighborhood Jaramteo child care will help families with two working parents engage in their economic activities in a stable manner, preventing career discontinuity and giving career-interrupted people a new job. We will continue to make various social contribution efforts to create jobs, such as jobs for the better livelihoods of elderly people, extending a warm hand to those in need in our community.”
