HF Delivers Support to the Underprivileged and Boosts the Local Economy

- It donates 17 eco-friendly electric vehicles to welfare centers

Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Lee Jung-Hwan) delivered 17 eco-friendly electric vehicles to local welfare centers in order to help vulnerable groups suffering from the prolonged coronavirus crisis.

People with disabilities, older adults with mobility limitations, and other socially vulnerable groups have been severely affected by the extended closure of local welfare centers. HF announced on April 9, 2020, that to improve welfare services for these underprivileged groups, HF donated 17 TWIZYs (worth KRW 224.4 million in total) to 17 community welfare centers and senior welfare centers in Busan together with Busan City (Mayor Oh Keo-Don) and the Community Chest of Korea (Chairperson Shin Jeong-Taek).

TWIZY is an eco-friendly, compact electric vehicle manufactured in the Busan area. Thanks to its compact size, the vehicle is especially useful for navigating Busan’s many hillside roads. The donated vehicles are expected to speed up the welfare centers’ meal delivery and home visiting care services to underprivileged groups.

This vehicle donation is expected to boost the local automotive industry, which has experienced worsening employment conditions due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, and bring greater public attention to low-emission, eco-friendly electric vehicles.

HF CEO Lee Jung-Hwan said, “We hope that this donation will help the struggling local economy deal with the impact of the coronavirus. HF will fulfill our corporate social responsibility through a range of social contribution efforts, reviving the local economy and addressing social issues for shared growth with our local community.”
