HF Builds Bridges to Psychologically Isolated Seniors Living Alone

- HF inks MOU with the Ministry of Health and Welfare for the ‘Connect Seniors Living Alone to Love’ project

Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Lee Jung-Hwan) stated on May 8, 2020, that it signed an MOU with the Ministry of Health and Welfare for the ‘Connect Seniors Living Alone to Love’ project at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square, Seoul.

Under the MOU, HF will provide older adults living alone with elderly reassurance phone calls and check in services, preventing lonely deaths and increasing their social contact to close any welfare loopholes for this senior group.

HF CEO Lee Jung-Hwan said, “This MOU allows us to expand the HF Happy Care Service, which we have offered for senior citizens living alone in Busan since last year, to Seoul this year. We will continue our numerous social contribution activities, such as building up the social safety network, for greater senior welfare.”

Since last year, HF has provided older adults living alone in Busan with personalized care services. These services include ▲ “Daily Life Support” to check the health and safety of isolated seniors, ▲ “Housing Care” to improve their derelict housing conditions, ▲ “Connection to Neighbors” to help them stay connected to their community, and ▲ “Life Convenience” to assist them with organizing their homes and going on outings.
