“Happy Parents’ Day!”

- On Parents’ Day, HF gives carnations to 10,000 seniors living alone 

Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Lee Jung-Hwan) announced on May 7, 2020, that it will hold a Parents’ Day celebration at Jasungdae Senior Center located in Dong-gu, Busan. Held in celebration of the nation’s Parents’ Day, the event was entitled ‘10,000 Carnations in Full Bloom of Love.’    

For the event, HF will work with Busan Association of Senior Welfare Centers (President Park Si-Woo), sending its social workers to 10,000 older adults living alone to offer a carnation as a token of appreciation.

HF CEO Lee Jung-Hwan said, “I personally hope that this carnation sharing event will help us revisit the meaning of respect for our elders in Family Month and ease their feelings of loneliness. HF will continue our efforts to help senior citizens enjoy a happy retirement.” 

As part of such efforts, HF offers the JooTaekYeonKeum*     scheme for seniors’ financially stable post-retirement life. It also carries out various social contribution activities, including ‘HF Happy Care Service’ for older adults living alone, ‘HF Senior Job Project’, and ‘HF Hangul Lessons’ to improve the welfare of seniors living in the local community.    

 * JooTaekYeonKeum (JTYK) is a state-guaranteed reverse mortgage loan in which senior citizens 55 years of age or older provide their owned home as collateral and receive living expenses for their post-retirement life in the form of monthly pension benefits either for the rest of their life or for a certain period of time.
