Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Lee Jung-Hwan) announced on June 15, 2020, that it held a ceremony to open the Community Shelter for Unwed Parents with Infants and Young Children. The ceremony was held at the Happy Dream Center in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, together with the National Happiness Center (Director Buddhist Monk Jeonggak).

HF donated KRW 50 million to help prevent infant and young child abandonment and build another Happy Dream Center for the safety of unmarried parents. The donation will be used to build the shelter and provide the parents with emergency grants.

For infants and young children and their single parents in crisis, the Happy Dream Center offers ▲ temporary protection, ▲ consultation on a safe delivery and medical support, ▲ administrative and legal services for birth registration, ▲  childcare arrangement services including linking them to a social welfare center or a private childcare organization, and ▲basic supplies, essential baby items, and other emergency supplies.

HF CEO Lee Jung-Hwan said, “We hope that the Happy Dream Center will ensure a safe delivery for unwed parents and a safe, healthy life for their newborn babies, who are the most valuable asset of our nation. HF will continue our efforts to practice our social responsibility for shared growth with the local community.”
