HF Recognized for Its Contribution to the Care of Vulnerable Older Adults

- Its elderly care and senior job creation endeavors honored with the Minister of Health and Welfare’s Prize

Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Lee Jung-Hwan) revealed on the 10th that it was recognized for its contribution to the care of socially disadvantaged seniors at the 2020 Love Sharing Fair held by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. As the only public financial institution honored, HF received the Minister of Health and Welfare’s Prize at the online event.

During the event, the ministerial prize was awarded to a total of 94 individuals and 20 organizations for their outstanding commitment to safeguarding socially underprivileged older adults, such as those living alone, and supporting them to lead a happy later life.

This year, HF is providing seniors living alone with the ‘HF Happy Care Service,’ which includes daily visits, companion assistance for outings, home organizing, and home repairs. It also launched the ‘Senior Community Safeguards,’ who carry out community patrols and vulnerable elderly care services, creating about 350 jobs for seniors and giving back to the community through this unique ‘senior care by seniors’ program.

HF CEO Lee Jung-Hwan said, “This year, isolated seniors need more attention and care than at any other time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. HF will continue our various social contribution efforts tailored to senior citizens to close senior welfare loopholes and build a solid social safety network.”
