- Currently only one branch in each metropolitan city or province; three more opened this year -

The Korea Housing Finance Corporation (KHFC) announced on February 20 that it would open branches in Cheonan, Ulsan and Suncheon in February and March. Each metropolitan city or province presently has only one branch, except for the capital region. This presented an inconvenience to potential borrowers of the JTYK loan or the Bogeumjari loan since they need to visit branches in person. In response, KHFC decided to open one branch each in the Chungcheong, Yeongnam and Honam regions to cover their extensive areas.

The Cheonan Branch in the Chungcheong region will open at the Chungnam Economic Support Center located in Buldang-dong, Cheonan on February 20 and provide service for housing finance, including the Bogeumjari loans, the JTYK loans, and jeonse loan guarantees, for eight cities or counties (Cheonan, Dangjin, Boryeong, Asan, Seosan, Hongseong, Yesan and Taean) in the northwestern part of Chungcheongnam-do.

The Ulsan Branch in the Yeongnam region will open at the Donyang Securities Building in Dal-dong, Ulsan on February 27. The new branch will provide field-oriented housing finance service to the residents of the eastern Gyeongbuk region, which includes Ulsan, Gyeongju and Pohang.

The Suncheon Branch in the Honam region will begin to serve the residents of eight cities or counties (Yeosu, Suncheon, Gwangyang, Gokseong, Gurye, Goheung, Boseong, and Jangheung) in the southeast Jeonnam region with the JTYK loan, the Bogeumjari loan, and jeonse loan guarantees on March 5. The branch will be located at the LG Building in Yeonhyang-dong, Suncheon.

“Local residents are now able to use our products more conveniently. Being closer to them in the field will help us minimize customer inconvenience and better hear their opinions and needs,” said an official at KHFC.

With the opening of branches in Cheonan, Ulsan, and Suncheon, KHFC will have 20 branches nationwide.
