HF Leads Efforts to Provide Gyeongnam Province Youth with Housing Support
- HF signs MOU with Gyeongnam Province, BNK Kyongnam Bank, and NH Bank’s Gyeongnam Center
Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Lee Jung-Hwan) takes the lead in providing housing support for youth in Gyeongnam Province.
HF announced on March 28, 2019, that in order to help young people in the province secure stable housing, it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Gyeongnam Province, BNK Kyongnam Bank, and NH Bank’s Gyeongnam Center. The MOU is entitled “MOU on Interest Payment Support for Youth on Security Deposit Guarantees.”
Under the MOU, HF will ease its eligibility requirements for young people taking out its security deposit guarantee services. It will also develop related products in partnership with BNK Kyongnam Bank and NH Bank’s Gyeongnam Center with the aim of unveiling a security deposit guarantee support program for young people this April.
The banks will help young people take out a security deposit loan of up to KRW 90 million. From among young people with no home (aged 19 to 34) and young workers (in their first five years of employment) on lease agreements with a security deposit of KRW 100 million or less, Gyeongnam Province will select a group of candidates and send the list to the banks, and HF will offer them a rate discount of up to 3% when they take out a security deposit loan (up to KR 30 million).
An HF official said, “We hope this MOU will help ease the burden of housing costs for young people in Gyeongnam Province. We will continue to work to support these young people.”
