HF Receives the Minister of Environment Award for Reducing Greenhouse Gases

- HF awarded for its environmental excellence two years in a row

Korea Home Financing Corporation (HF, CEO Lee Jung-Hwan) announced on October 31, 2018, that it was selected for and awarded the Minister of Environment Award for its excellence in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the recent assessment conducted by the Ministry to evaluate the performances of public-sector entities against their greenhouse gas and energy targets.

The Ministry conducted the assessment on 760 public-sector organizations across the nation. In last year’s assessment, the Ministry selected a total of 16 public organizations in the categories of ▲the largest reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, ▲the largest percentage increase in reduction, and ▲ the largest reduction by type of organization.

Having been selected as one of the 16 organizations last year and receiving the award for the second consecutive year, HF has continued to implement environmentally friendly policies in its day-to-day operations. More specifically, it has removed single-use paper cups and plastic bottles from its workspaces and has run a campaign to reduce single-use waste. It also sets a greenhouse gas reduction target each year. In addition, it has implemented energy saving policies, such as replacing traditional lighting with LED lighting and adding electric cars and other environmentally friendly vehicles to its corporate fleet.

HF CEO Lee Jung-Hwan said, “We are glad that our company has been selected as an outstanding greenhouse gas reducer thanks to our employees’ efforts. We will further contribute to lowering greenhouse gas emissions and saving energy by adopting electric vehicles and running a no-vehicle-day campaign.”
