HF Goes Single-Use and Plastic-Free

- HF takes action to reduce single-use waste

Disposable paper cups and plastic bottles will be removed from HF workspaces starting from July. HF will provide each of its employees with a tumbler, encouraging them to use the reusable container for their daily coffee or other beverages.

Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Lee Jung-Hwan) announced on the 2nd that to mark July, the month of nature and the environment, it has embarked on the “Single-Use Waste Reduction Campaign” to help save the environment and prevent unnecessary waste.

With the launch of the campaign, HF employees have replaced single-use paper cups and plastic bottles with their own tumblers or mugs or shared cups. In addition, they will use multi-use cups for meetings, conferences, and other occasions and also keep cups and mugs for guests and clients in a UV sterilizer for sanitation and disinfection to expand the scheme across all operations.

The scheme is also being applied to office supplies. HF employees will purchase recycled items over single-use ones. For office supplies and stationary products, they will also shop with reusable bags or boxes instead of plastic bags. The scheme also encourages them to bring their own tumbler when they go to a coffee shop, promoting the reduction of the use of disposable and plastic items in all areas of life.

HF President Lee Jung-Hwan said, “HF, as a public organization, is committed to taking the lead in minimizing the use of single-use items to conserve natural resources and the environment.”
