“ Counseling on Jeonse Loan Guarantee Available Every Tuesday ”

- Seoul Metropolitan Government and KHFC join hands to launch jeonse loan guarantee counseling service on May 28 -

The Korea Housing Finance Corporation (KHFC) announced on May 23 that it decided to launch counseling service for low-income earners on the difficulties they experience in obtaining and using jeonse loans at the Jeonse and Monthly Rent Deposit Support Center run by Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) beginning on May 28.

Offered jointly with SMG, this counseling service is available every Tuesday at the Jeonse Loan Counseling Office of SMG's Jeonse and Monthly Rent Deposit Support Center in the Seoul City Hall Seosomun Building. Information on guarantee service personalized for each individual will be provided through one-to-one counseling by KHFC advisers specializing in jeonse loan guarantees.

※ Subjects of counseling: Jinggeomdari (stepping stone) jeonse loan guarantees for borrowers of high interest rate loans from non-banking institutions to switch to low interest rate loans, and guarantees on registered lease rights for tenants whose rental deposits are not returned by homeowners after the expiration of their leases.

“We plan to step up cooperation with other local governments in order to help more low-income earners resolve difficulties they have regarding jeonse loans,” said an official at KHFC.
