On September 11, 2009, the management and staff of the Korea Housing Finance Corporation (KHFC) volunteered with Habitat for Humanity to build homes for low-income families that do not own a home.

About 30 KHFC employees, mostly from the KHFC Bogeumjari Volunteer Group, gathered to help out at the "Village of Hope" construction site in Mokcheon-eup Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. Though unskilled, they were willing to spend their day cutting wood, hammering nails, and sweating to build homes for people in need.

CEO Lim worked on wall-papering. He said, “The Habitat experience is all the more meaningful because the prime responsibility of KHFC is to help solve the housing needs of low-income families without a home. I hope that this campaign of building homes of love will continue so that our neighbors in need do not lose the hope of becoming home-owners.”

Before beginning his voluntary service that day, Lim donated KRW 10 million, raised by KHFC employees, to Habitat Cheonan-Ansan Affiliate and asked that the money be spent to improve the housing environment for low-income families.

Since the launch of its Bogeumjari Volunteer Group in June 2006, KHFC has participated in 7 Habitat campaigns, including “Building Homes of Love,” “One Company - One Village,” the Beautiful Store campaign, and other important social activities.
