Bogeumjari Loan Issuance Increases for Three Consecutive Months

KRW360.2 billion in July, the monthly high for the year

 Bogeumjari loans are a long-term, fixed rate mortgage loan product.  Demand for them rose for a third consecutive month and exceeded KRW300 billion in a single month for the first time this year.  According to KHFC, lending of bogeumjari loans totaled KRW360.2 billion in July 2007, up 31.7% from KRW273.3 in June.

 The issuance of bogeumjari loan fell slightly after peaking in February (KRW 278.2 billion), but bottomed out in May and rose in each of the next three months.  Daily average issuance has also been rising, totaling  KRW11.9 billion in May, KRW13.8 billion in June, and KRW 17.2 billion in July.
