HF Offers Caring Hands to Seniors Living Alone in Busan

 - HF holds ‘HF Happy Care Service’ launch ceremony

Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Lee Jung-Hwan) said on August 22, 2019, that it held a ceremony to launch “HF Happy Care Service” and proclaim its commitment at the Cultural Center in the Centum City Complex, Jungang-ro, Busan. During the ceremony, HF handed out letters of appointment to those who will carry out the Happy Care Service, and these caretakers pledged their commitment to the successful operation of the program.

Under the program, HF, together with Busan Comprehensive Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone, will select some 800 Busan seniors aged 60 or over from its customers who are living alone and candidates for the government’s senior care service. HF will provide them with personalized care services through the end of the year. These services include ▲ “Daily Life Support” to check the health and safety of isolated seniors, ▲ “Housing Care” to improve their derelict housing conditions, ▲ “Connection to Neighbors” to help them stay connected to their community, and ▲ “Life Convenience” to assist them with organizing their homes and going on outings.

The HF Happy Care Service is particularly meaningful in that it fulfills its goal of creating jobs for Busan seniors aged 60 or over by adopting a form of senior care carried out by senior Happy Caretakers.

HF Vice President Kim Min-Ho said, “We hope that HF Happy Care Service will provide elderly people living alone with emotional support and protect them from safety hazards, including lonely deaths. We will continue to develop various forms of welfare services to reach out to socially vulnerable groups.”
